Hire a short-form editor or clipper

You're recording long-form content but leaving views on the table because nobody is turning it into clips. A clipper takes one YouTube video or podcast episode and pulls 5 to 15 short-form pieces out of it for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

What clipping actually involves

The job is selecting the best moments from long-form content and turning them into 30 to 90 second clips. That means picking hooks (the first 3 seconds are everything), adding text overlays and captions, matching trending formats, and adjusting pacing for each platform. A technically clean edit with a weak hook gets zero views. Hook selection is the skill.

This role barely exists outside the creator economy. You won't find clippers on traditional job boards because the role itself is only a few years old.

What makes a good clipper

Volume and consistency. A good clipper produces 5 to 15 clips per long-form piece, maintains quality across all of them, and understands what performs differently on TikTok vs Reels vs Shorts. They also need to be fast. If your podcast goes up on Monday, the clips should be ready to post by Tuesday.

How we find clippers

We source from inside the creator economy: Discord servers, Instagram communities, and networks where clippers actually work. We screen on real clips they've made for real creators, not spec work or showreels. We check output volume, consistency, and how fast they communicate.
